Option update: Fannie Mae volatility up as FNM at 12-year low

Fannie Mae (NYSE: FNM) reported Q4 loss per share of $3.79 versus consensus estimates of a $1.24 loss per share as its mortgage assets deteriorate.

FNM is recently trading at $24.95 in pre-open trading, below its shut of $26.97.

FNM March option implied volatility of

84 is above its 26-week average of 54 according to Track goods, suggesting larger price risk.
